TWO DIMENSIONS
Following the Encyclical Fides et Ratio, of John
Paul II, the WALSINGHAM PROJECT comprises two dimensions: a
spiritual one and an intellectual one.
The Spiritual Dimension consists of the revitalization of
the Prayer Crusade for the conversion of England, which was
started by the Venerable Ignatius Spencer,
a great convert from Anglicanism; and Blessed
Dominic Barberi (who converted the famous John Henry Newman).
Both were Passionist fathers who dedicated their lives to the
conversion of England.
The Intellectual Dimension consists of the promotion of
the book of Henry VIII, 'Defence of the
Seven Sacraments', in order to help Anglicans and eventually
Lutherans who are coming home to Rome to recover the correct perspective
about the Sacraments, indulgences and papal primacy, as expounded by
the founder of the Church of England, Henry VIII, prior to his
falling into schism.
Henry VIII received the title of ‘Defender of the Faith’ by Pope
Leo X. In the writing of the book 'Defence
of the Seven Sacraments', he counted on the assistance of Saints
Thomas More and John Fisher. It is a prime example of Catholic
orthodoxy.
WHY IS THIS BEING
DONE NOW?
